Tester Terms and Conditions

Version 2 · last updated 19 August 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Playlytix s. r. o., Galbavého 1860/1, 841 01 Bratislava — Dúbravka, Slovak Republic (IČO: 57017140 — "Playlytix", "we") for using the Playlytix portal. By creating an account you accept them.

1. What Playlytix is

Playlytix connects game developers with playtesters. Developers commission structured playtests; we invite suitable testers, collect their feedback through the portal, evaluate it, and pay rewards for accepted work. Testers act as independent participants — nothing here creates employment, an agency relationship, or any guarantee of invitations or income.

2. Your account

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • One account per person, registered with accurate information. Your profile must describe you — matching testers to tests is the heart of the service, and fabricated profiles (hardware you don't own, demographics that aren't yours) are grounds for removal and forfeiture of pending rewards.
  • You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method secure. Tell us immediately if you suspect someone else has access.

3. How testing works

  • Invitations. We match tests to profiles; you are free to accept or decline any invitation. Declining never penalises your rating.
  • Deadlines are hard. Each test may have a start time and a submission deadline. The portal refuses submissions after the deadline — plan for it. An accepted-but-unsubmitted test past its deadline earns nothing.
  • Submissions. Answer the questions honestly and in your own words, and only upload files you captured yourself from the test build. You can add follow-up comments until your submission is evaluated.
  • The training mission given to new testers is practice: it is evaluated like real work but carries no reward.

4. Evaluation and rewards

  • Our team scores each submission (1–10) on effort, specificity and usefulness. The score is at our reasonable discretion and feeds your tester rating.
  • A test's advertised reward range is indicative; the actual reward is set at evaluation, within that range, based on the quality of your submission. Low-effort submissions (blank or careless answers, missing required files) can be scored low and rewarded accordingly — including zero for submissions that are unusable or violate these terms.
  • Rewards are delivered through Tremendous (a digital-rewards provider offering gift cards and similar redemption options) to your account email after a payout is dispatched. Playlytix does not operate bank transfers.
  • Taxes are your responsibility. Rewards may be taxable income where you live; declaring them is on you.
  • Obvious abuse — plagiarised feedback, AI-fabricated reports about a build you didn't play, duplicate accounts — forfeits pending rewards and the account.

5. Confidentiality — this is the serious one

Playtests routinely involve unreleased, unannounced games. Unless the test brief explicitly says otherwise, everything about a test is confidential: the build, keys, gameplay, art, story, performance, the developer's identity, and the fact that the test exists at all.

  • No streaming, posting, screenshotting or describing test content anywhere outside the portal's feedback form — not even privately.
  • Game keys and builds are provided solely for the test, may not be shared or resold, and may be revoked when the test ends. Follow the platform-privacy steps in our guides (e.g. hiding Steam game details) for NDA'd tests.
  • This obligation starts when you accept an invitation and survives the end of the test and your account. A confidentiality breach forfeits pending rewards, ends the account, and can make you liable to us and to the affected developer for the damage caused — leaks of unannounced games cause real, quantifiable harm.

6. Your feedback, our licence

You keep ownership of what you write and upload. By submitting, you grant Playlytix and the developer whose game you tested a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, adapt and act on your feedback and uploaded files for developing, improving and marketing the tested game and the Playlytix service. You won't be identified publicly beyond your visibility setting (see the Privacy Policy) without separate consent. Game builds, keys and all test materials remain the property of the developer.

Licensing to third parties is separate, and optional. The licence above covers the tested game and our own service — it does not allow us to sell or license your feedback to anyone else. We may only include your testing data in datasets licensed to third parties (for example games companies or AI research organisations) if you have switched on the data-licensing consent in your profile, and then only for data collected while it is on, with your name, email, username and gaming account IDs removed first. You can withdraw that consent at any time; it stops future use, but datasets already delivered under a licence can't be recalled. Declining changes nothing about your invitations, evaluations or rewards. Section 5 of the Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is and isn't included.

Aggregated statistics that describe groups rather than individuals (for example genre-level benchmarks) are not personal data, and we may publish or sell them regardless of the above.

7. Acceptable use

No probing or disrupting the platform's security, no automated scraping or bot accounts, no impersonation, no uploading unlawful content or malware, no using the portal to harm the developers you test for. We may rate-limit, suspend or remove accounts that do.

8. Suspension and ending the relationship

You can stop using Playlytix at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy for what deletion can and cannot remove). We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms — for confidentiality or fraud violations, immediately and without prior warning; otherwise we'll normally tell you why. Evaluated-and-owed rewards for compliant work are paid out even if the account closes.

9. The service is provided "as is"

We work to keep the portal reliable, but we don't warrant uninterrupted availability, that invitations will reach any volume, or that any particular reward will be earned. To the extent Slovak law allows, our liability to you is limited to direct damage caused by our fault, capped at the rewards we paid you in the twelve months before the event; we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Mandatory consumer-protection rights under Slovak and EU law are not affected by anything in these terms.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the date above changes and material changes will be flagged in the portal — continued use means acceptance. These terms are governed by the law of the Slovak Republic; disputes belong to the competent Slovak courts, without prejudice to protections your home country's law guarantees you. EU residents can also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
